    Talking about CRISPR

This afternoon seminar aims: – To improve the visibility of CRISPR research in Denmark – To establish a local network for knowledge sharing – To speed up the process from generating ideas to testing by creating a CRISPR discussion forum – To foster new collaborations, talent development and recruitment There will be talks from several CRISPR users that will highlight the potential of this technique. The last talk will be from Virginijus Siksnys from the Institute of Biotechnology, Vilnius University. Virginijus was among the first to demonstrate programmable DNA cleavage by the Cas9 protein. After the last talk, you are invited to participate to the dinner reception on the 15th floor of the Maersk Tower when you will be able to meet all the speakers.

    Speakers

Virginijus Siksnys The research interests of V. Šikšnys include structure-function relationships of enzymes involved in nucleic acids metabolism. V. Šikšnys and members of his laboratory perform biochemical, biophysical and structural studies of proteins involved in bacterial antiviral defense, including restriction endonucleases and CRISPR-Cas systems.

    Registration

    Registration is closed now.

Registration and abstract submission is open to all levels of participants (MSc students, PhD students, postdocs and PIs), and it is completely free of charge. All the participants must answer to the question: How do you use CRISPR? Submission of a short abstract and poster presentation is strongly encouraged.  There will be a selection of short talks based on the abstract submitted.

Applications can be uploaded until March 1, 2018.  All applicants and short talks will get notified on March 5, 2018.

    FAQ

I would like to know about upcoming events – where can I find information?

You are very welcome to join the ‘Novo Nordisk Foundation Research Centers’ Linkedin group. There you will find information about upcoming lectures, and much more. Also, you may want to sign up for the weekly announcement with events and deadlines, sent out by the group manager.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is no car parking available for participants at the location. It is up to the participant to find a valid public parking space.

Cyclists can use one of the many bicycle stands on campus or the basement bicycle parking below the Maersk Tower.

Public transportation: Bus no. 3A stops on Blegdamsvej (stops: Skt. Hans Torv or Rigshospitalet Syd) and bus no. 6A stops on Tagensvej (stop: Rigshospitalet Syd).

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

    Contact Sophie Labrosse at sfeb@novo.dk

How do I cancel my participation?

Please help us respecting our speakers, as well keeping track of the numbers and optimize lecture and catering to the audience by cancelling as soon as you know that you exceptionally will not be able to make it.
